A purpose-driven movement transforming lives through education, environmental care, and sustainable community development across Sri Lanka.

Creating real change through education, sustainability, and community support.
Innovative projects designed to uplift families and protect the environment.
MODC (Modern Concept) is a social impact initiative founded by Mr. Dhammika Wijesundara, a visionary leader who turned professional success into purposeful service.
After decades in the corporate world — where he pioneered innovations like SMART refrigerator technology at Singer Sri Lanka — Dhammika began a new journey guided by compassion and gratitude. His mission was clear: to help underprivileged communities rise through education, sustainability, and self-reliance.
In 2009, he began supporting over 50 children in Kukuleganga, providing school supplies and resources for their education. That single act of kindness sparked a movement — and today, MODC stands as a growing force of good dedicated to building a better tomorrow for Sri Lanka.
We believe that small acts of kindness can create lasting change.

CEO - MODC

MODC manages small-scale forest areas to combat deforestation and raise awareness about environmental protection. In regions like Kukuleganga, we cultivate organic spices — turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, ginger, and goraka — to promote healthy, eco-conscious living and local sustainability.

We believe strong communities are built on care and connection. Through our education support programs, we help children access learning resources and build brighter futures. Families can also reconnect through holiday bungalows in Diyathalawa, Kandy, Kukuleganga, and Riverston — peaceful spaces designed for family bonding and mental rejuvenation.

Our YouTube channel shares stories of transformation — from small business successes to community-led initiatives. By empowering others to tell their stories and start new ventures, MODC helps spread a culture of hope, resilience, and collaboration.

Education is at the heart of MODC. Our Book Project provides essential learning materials to children from low-income families. Although the project was delayed by the economic crisis, it’s set to relaunch soon, bringing knowledge and opportunity back to hundreds of children.

MODC operates four serene holiday bungalows for those who value simplicity and family time. Guests contribute based on the happiness and satisfaction they feel — embodying our “Pay for Your Happiness” philosophy. All proceeds go directly to supporting our community and educational projects. To honor Sri Lankans working abroad, we also welcome expatriates and foreign guests to enjoy these facilities at fair and flexible rates, with all income reinvested into local development.

During Sri Lanka’s financial crisis, MODC embraced self-reliance through spice cultivation. Our Game Kulu Badu brand promotes organic turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, and ginger — sold at fair prices that give farmers 50% more than the market rate. These efforts empower over 200 rural families, creating sustainable livelihoods while strengthening the nation’s agricultural roots.
We are not just an organization — we are a movement built on compassion, honesty, and genuine care for communities in need.
From supporting children’s education to empowering farmers and restoring forests, every project creates visible, long-lasting change.
We focus on organic farming, environmental conservation, and fair trade to ensure growth that benefits both people and the planet.
Our work is rooted in real human connections. We collaborate closely with families, farmers, and local leaders to meet their true needs.
We maintain honest communication, clear reporting, and ethical project management so every supporter knows their impact.
Our founder and team personally engage with communities, ensuring support reaches those who need it most.
At MODC, every life touched tells a story of hope, resilience, and transformation.
