From Soil to Sustainability – How MODC Empowers Local Farmers

When Sri Lanka faced its toughest economic challenges, MODC turned adversity into opportunity.
Instead of depending on imports, we began cultivating 12 acres of fertile land with turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, and ginger — all under our proudly Sri Lankan brand “Game Kulu Badu.”

This initiative now supports over 200 farmers who earn 50% more than the market rate, giving them the financial stability to care for their families and educate their children.

But this is more than a farming project — it’s a movement for sustainable self-reliance. MODC’s plantations also promote organic cultivation, environmental restoration, and ethical trade, ensuring that what grows from our soil nourishes both people and planet.

“Fair trade isn’t charity — it’s empowerment.”

MODC’s vision is to see a Sri Lanka where farmers are respected as community leaders, not just producers. Together, we are cultivating change — one field at a time.
