Empowering Children Through Education
At MODC – Modern Concept, we believe that education is the strongest foundation for a better future. The Book Project was created to ensure that children in underserved communities have the basic resources they need to learn, grow, and dream without limits.
Why the Book Project Matters
In many rural villages across Sri Lanka, children struggle to continue their education because they lack essential school supplies. Poverty forces families to choose between daily meals and buying school materials — leaving children trapped in a cycle of disadvantage.
The Book Project directly addresses this challenge by supplying:
- School books
- Stationery
- Backpacks
- Basic educational tools
Since 2009, this initiative has supported 50+ children from villages like Kukuleganga, helping them attend school with confidence and dignity.
Our Approach
Identifying Students in Need
We work closely with village leaders, schools, and families to identify children who lack access to educational resources.
Providing Full-Year Supplies
Each child receives the materials needed for an entire school year — reducing financial stress on families.
Long-Term Monitoring
We maintain long-term relationships with families to ensure children continue their studies and receive ongoing support.
Future Expansion
Although the project temporarily paused due to economic challenges, we are fully prepared to relaunch in the coming year and expand to new regions across the country.
